In light of recent developments (I did nothing this week) I have decided to consider this week a catch up week. (As opposed to the lagging behind week it actually was.) I have two unrecovered Kenpo days I missed over the last twelve weeks. I did one today. Doing one tomorrow puts me where I need to be in order to finish P90X on time. I may throw in some X Stretches just for kicks, but I have reviewed the evidence (The last day of every week you can do X Stretch OR rest. So I'm not actually slacking off by not doing all of them that I had the option to do.) and no longer feel compelled to make up the stretching I didn't have to do in the first place.
Of course, this approach will pressurize next week (I will be forced to do doubles every day in order to complete weeks twelve and thirteen by Day 90. A workout missed will guarantee failure as it is next to impossible to do three workouts in a day, as well as ineffective.) but it's the home stretch! Give it all you've got!

Day Eighty Two
Ever notice that some weeks just aren't it? You may have started with the best of intentions, then you find yourself staring at Friday with no possible hope of recovering lost time, lost ground, and lost muscle. I wish somehow I would have been a different kind of person this week. One who got up and exercised instead of sleeping in. One who went home and worked out instead of catching a movie. One who had self-control and walked past the piece of cake (and the second one, and the cupcake, and the PB M&M's) that made all the exercising necessary in the first place.
Regret. (Not going to get that time back.) Disappointment. (This was my last chance too! The end is in sight!) Disgust. (I am such a glutton!) Intimidation. (How will I ever finish on time now?)
P90X isn't the only arena for such emotions either. (I wish I would have memorized more Scripture as a kid.) (I will never get another chance to witness to her.) (Why am I still making the same wrong choices?) (I just can't keep my life together!)
"Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning..." (Lamentations 3:22-23) No matter how many times I fall short in multiple areas of my life, morning continues to come.
"For physical training IS of some value..." and godly disicplines more so and both can be begun again with the sunrise. (Or any time thereafter!)

Day Seventy Nine
Chest, Shoulders, & Triceps/Ab Ripper. Time to get back at it with a vengeance. Checked that one off for the last time! Yippee! Last lifting week of P90X! The end is in sight! (Whoa. Someone needs to lay off the exclamation points.)

Day Seventy Eight
If yesterday was "Need to skip", today was "Want to skip." Too much good food, leaving me getting home and not watching a productive video.
Day Seventy Seven
Did I mention earlier how hard it is to keep a workout schedule when you're away from home? What kind of a guest borrows the DVD player for an hour so they can exercise in the middle of the party? "Hi! Beautiful house, great party, do you mind moving to the garage? I need to use your living room for my workout." Not thinking that Miss Manners would approve.
